Yep. It's different. I don't do a lot of landscapey stuff apart from the backgrounds in the comic.
I was out on Foulney island yesterday, it was really hot, so the sea breeze was great! I got really close to an Oyster Catcher (a black and white sea bird with a long red beak). There were wind surfers and kite surfers out enjoying the weather too, but of course, because hardly anybody knows about this part of the country, it was really quiet and beautiful, no tourists, just locals having a good time.
Foulney is actually only an island at very high tide, the rest of the time it's a long peninsula sticking out into the sea, it's close to where I live, just south a few miles of the English Lake District. The old castle you see is Piel castle on Piel island, it looked great silhouetted against the sky, there wasn't a single cloud! The new wildlife warden in the island (My sister did the job summer before last) is really nice. She and my sister started talking, so I decided to sit nearby and do a quick watercolour painting while they were talking. A really groovy beetle landed on my work at one point! ...You won't believe it, but just after I'd painted it, a beautiful white-sailed sailing ship appeared...why couldn't it have been there earlier!? It could have been on the painting!
